The aroma of darkly seductive violet flowers fills the air. In the first sip purple flowers meet dark elderberry and ripe blackberry. This is a magical black, oolong, and smoked tea blend with rich floral and black berry notes. Berry flavors are deepened by slatey tannins. A faint smokiness lingers in the finish, reminiscent of far-off incense and candle smoke from the smoked lapsang souchong tea. A touch of milk softens the tannins and brightens the berry and floral flavors. An elegant tea for afternoon or with a special dessert. A tea for lovers of violet, dark berries, and incense.

Hot brewing
Infuse 1 tea bag in 10 ounces of boiling water (212°f/100° c) for 5 minutes.
Iced brewing
Infuse 1 tea bag in 3 ounces of boiling water (212°f/100° c) for 5 minutes. Dilute with 7 ounces of cold water. Serve over ice.
Infuse it again!
Each tea bag can be reinfused for a milder second cup.

The Black Metallic tea has a bright, crisp taste that I adore! I mostly use the August teas to make iced tea, but I do occasionally drink hot tea. I’ve tried several of the teas, and those are really good, but Black Metallic, as well as Breathless, are my absolute favorites!!
This tea has a very unique flavor. I added some honey to it as I wanted a bit sweeter of a taste. Flavor is strong to me - can make several cups from one serving.
The violet floral mixes with the elderberry fruit and you get a tea reminiscent of the Chinese lychee tea we used to buy in Philadelphia's Chinatown markets. The tea brews up dark but not bitter. It makes insanely good iced tea due to the fruity overtone; try mixing it with a blackberry or blueberry strained syrup for an unusual sweet iced tea. I like it hot even in summer and this is my favorite.

Something so nostalgic about this scent and flavor that is hard to describe. Has an almost ethereal garden berry smell and taste. For me, the best part is that the tannins are light and there is no hibiscus tartness, all juicy and fruit/floral forward.
