In the mid-1990s there was a body-products store that let you create your own scent blend for your products. After testing every scent on the bar, I decided on an unorthodox mix of vanilla, mint, and pink grapefruit. The staffer asked me three times if I was sure. I said yes, and I loved that scent until those products were all used up. The store discontinued the custom-blending option shortly after and I never got that scent again.
When I opened the package on this tea, I got that EXACT SAME SCENT: a blend of warm sweetness from the vanilla, soothing freshness from the mint, and bright energizing citrus from the grapefruit. It sounds like it won't work, but it totally does--each note layering on the other for that complex blend of taste and feeling, with the rooibos serving as a gently woody base for all of it. It's dreamy and lush and full of complex notes, just like the music of the band that inspired this name. I love this tea and I love that it takes me back to a different sensory experience that I also loved.
