Chocolate Chili Black Tea

Rated 4.7 out of 5
Based on 171 reviews

Tastes Like: dried pasilla chili, mexican cinnamon, cacao
Feels Like: a sedona sunset

Chai lovers and spice lovers will flip for this spicy black tea with New Mexican flavor. Tart tannins jump across the tongue in the first sip. Sweet cinnamon, smoky chili, and salty chocolate notes rise and fall with the steadiness of a piano scale. We recommend milk for a rich and spicy morning tea. If Mexican hot chocolate was a tea, this would be it.

Versatile

The chocolate, chili, and cinnamon go together beautifully to create an unctuous, well rounded tea. When the tea was warm, there were notes of smooth chocolate. When it cooled to room temperature, I experienced the bite of the pepper on the finish. For the second steeping, I let it cold brew overnight in the refrigerator. That was when the cinnamon took center stage. This is one of my favorites.

Warm, Smooth, Rich

This is delicious. I did not try this one for a long time because I was worried it would be spicy hot like tabasco sauce. It's not. It is a warm spice, like chai.

It reminds me of my favorite spice blend that I add to baked goods; cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and vanilla. It has that spicy aftertaste like cloves. It feels warm in your belly. Like all my favorite August flavors it is rich, full, dark, and complex.

Best of Everything

This tea had me at hello. It’s chocolate, heat, spice and reminds me of the southwest. Would strongly recommend!

My favorite flavors of all time

This purchase is a repeat and it will always be in my tea cabinet. Chocolate and chili are my very favorite flavors of all - I eat both straight - and having them together in this tea -- well, it doesn't get any better than that.
