August is seeking a DTC Growth Marketer

August Uncommon Tea is hiring a direct-to-consumer growth marketer to help us reach, delight, and retain the millions of tea lovers in the United States using every means available.

About August:

August is a super-premium DTC tea brand launched in Los Angeles in 2014 which has grown over 10x in the last four years. We make delicious tea for passionate people. Our blends are innovative, our ingredients are extraordinary, and our design is gorgeous. August was created by designer Aaron Shinn (former IDEO) and flavor creator Dr Gina Zupsich (UC Berkeley, Columbia). 

About the role:

The Growth Marketer will work with founders to efficiently acquire customers at scale and to improve retention for existing customers. August is bringing more marketing in-house to build on the momentum of recent growth. This full-time role has been created to take over from the founders and build a high-output marketing org in-house.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Entrepreneurial hustle
  • Data-driven testing and iteration methodology
  • Bone-deep direct-response copywriting chops
  • Strategy and execution skills
  • Recent track record of running successful DTC marketing campaigns across paid and owned channels
  • Prior success running ads profitably in a post iOS14 world
  • Methods for market and user research to suss out user needs, gaps in the market, and competitive advantages
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Clear digital and in-person communication skills
  • A network of collaborators you can bring in on an as needed basis to get things done


  • Base salary at $75k+ based on experience
