Olympus - Mint Cucumber Herbal Tea (Caffeine Free)

Olympus mint cucumber herbal tea is the minty blend of my dreams.

My goal was to create a mint blend that captures the easy, refreshing feeling of mint in my garden on a sunny summer's morning. Fresh and lively, yet unlike other mint blends with astringent green tea or sweet-tart tropical fruit.

Olympus is naturally sweet and caffeine-free. The dominant flavors come from peppermint and cucumber, a classic Greek combination. I love the bite of peppermint especially combined with sweet floral cucumber and softened by dried apple. Moringa leaves lend a little garden earthiness to the blend. This blend's crisp flavors are the perfect accompaniment to long summer afternoons. 

Olympus is one of the freshest teas I've ever tasted. The flavors are lively yet delicate with a cool minty flavor that lingers after each sip. My favorite way to enjoy it to make a pitcher of iced tea with a bit of honey and lots of ice. I created Olympus as an iced tea, however, it's also very good hot on a cool evening.

While it is not intended to be a wellness tea, it does have a popular wellness ingredient: Moringa Leaf. These come from the moringa oleifera tree, native to the Himalayan foothills of India and Pakistan. It's been used in traditional medicines for regulating blood sugar, reducing inflammation and cholesterol. Because of its long history as a medicinal plant, moringa is part of recent studies by Western medical researchers. Please consult a medical professional if you have any concerns.

This tea embodies summer garden freshness. Its vibrant green flavors will transport you to an acropolis overlooking the neon-blue Aegean Sea.

Hot Brewing 10 oz

Heat 212°f/100°c water
Add 3.5g tea, about 4 teaspoons (please note the packaging has an error, it says only 2 teaspoons)
Pour 10oz/300ml hot water
Infuse 4-5 mins. Longer is stronger.
Repeat Reinfuse 1-2 times

Iced Brewing 10 oz

Heat 212°f/100°c water
Add 3.5g tea, about 4 teaspoons (please note the packaging has an error, it says only 2 teaspoons)
Pour ~3oz hot water to barely cover tea leaves
Infuse 4-5 mins. Longer is stronger.
Dilute with 7oz cold water
Serve Over ice

Pro tip: If you want more concentrated flavor, try doubling the tea leaves in this recipe.
