The Library Black Tea Stone Sour (bonus low ABV version)

We're bringing back this 80s classic cocktail. It's sweet and sour, nutty and rich, and utterly addictive. You'll wonder where this drink has been all your life. Bourbon gets some black magic with an infusion of rich black tea with cacao and caraway. Make it low ABV with only Amaretto. Recipe below.

Recipe is for 1 drink. 
Tea-infused bourbon recipe makes enough for 2 drinks.
Allow 30 minutes for bourbon infusion.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces The Library-infused bourbon
  • 2 ounces Amaretto
  • 2 ounces sour mix
  • Splash of orange juice

Preparation

  • In a glass container, add 1 tablespoon The Librarytea to 4 ounces of bourbon.
  • Infuse 30 minutes then strain tea leaves with a fine mesh strainer
  • Fill a rocks glass with ice
  • If making 2 drinks, double the amount of all ingredients
  • Stir together The Library-infused bourbon, amaretto, and sour mix
  • Add a splash of orange juice
  • Garnish with cherry and orange slice
  • Enjoy!

    Makes 4 ounces of The Library-infused bourbon.

    Our Sour Mix Recipe

    • 4 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice
    • 4 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
    • 4 ounces simple syrup

    Sour Mix Preparation

    • Remove pulp from the juice by straining through a fine mesh strainer. 
    • Stir together all ingredients. 

    Makes 12 ounces sour mix.


    Low ABV Version

    Ingredients

    • 2 ounces The Library double concentrate
    • 2 ounces Amaretto
    • 2 ounces sour mix
    • Splash of orange juice

    Preparation

    • Infuse 2 tablespoons The Library tea with 10 ounces 212°F water for 5 minutes
    • Strain and cool to room temperature 
    • Refrigeration causes cloudy tea
    • Fill a rocks glass with ice
    • Stir together tea concentrate, amaretto, and sour mix
    • Add a splash of orange juice
    • Garnish with cherry and orange slice
    • Enjoy!
